Tom Hanafan Rivers Edge Park and Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge
These projects spanned many years, and Scott was the local Civil Engineer as a subconsultant to a premier bridge design firm and a few years later as a subconsultant to a nationally recognized Landscape Architecture firm for the park design and construction. Both the bridge project and the park project received national awards for their astonishing designs and successful construction.
COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
SUMMARY
This iconic bridge over the Missouri River and Park were transformative to both Omaha and Council Bluffs. Scott completed the Civil Engineering design of the bridge landings on both the Nebraska and Iowa sides during the original bridge construction. He then completed the Civil Engineering design of the park and access road on the Iowa side several years later. Construction of the park project was delayed by the Missouri River flooding that occured in 2011, and the design was modified to accomodate future flooding. Scott was also involved in the construction phase of the project. The projects included the following services that Scott completed.
